In a wild game marked by plenty of fouls, the Lady Conquerors defeated the Faith Eagles by a final score of 61-56. In a nice bounce-back effort by the Conquerors after a tough loss the evening before, they held off a late comeback by the Eagles to secure the tough road win. There were 5 ties and 4 lead changes in the game along with a total of 52 fouls between the two teams. The Conquerors were more careful with the ball and significantly reduced their team turnovers while also turning over the Eagles 29 times by applying some full-court pressure of their own. Madison Trussoni had 16 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds, and 7 steals while Grace Dryburgh scored 14 points along with 5 steals and 7 rebounds of her own. Caley Pederson had a nice game with 10 points on 5 of 10 shooting along with 9 rebounds. Rebecca Olsen pulled down double-digit rebounds with 13 for the game. At one point in the fourth quarter, 4 Conqueror players had fouled out of the game, including 3 starters. In a gutsy effort, the remaining players finished the game to ensure that the solid effort would not be wasted. The team showed courage and resiliency in beating a good team in their home gym. With the win, the Lady Conquerors improved their overall record to 4-3 while the Eagles dropped their first game of the year with the loss. The Conquerors have a short week to recover as they head to Winnipeg for the second time this season to take on conference foe Canadian Mennonite University in a weekend double-header.
