The Conquerors will be in action again this weekend as they host the Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College (NHSC) Storm. All games will be played at Heritage Christian Academy in
Maple Grove, MN. Game times are 6:00pm Friday, Nov. 8 and 1:00pm Saturday, Nov. 9 for the women and 8:00pm Friday and 3:00pm Saturday for the men. NHSC is located in New Town, ND and this is their first year as the newest member of the NIAC. This will also be the Storm’s first game of the season. Their basketball teams have enjoyed past successes but there is very little information available on this year’s teams. Early reports include smaller rosters for both their men’s and women’s teams which contain some very talented individual players.
For the Conquerors, the emphasis this weekend will be on building from lessons learned during the opening weekend. There were many positive take-aways from last weekend’s games at Red River, along with some areas for improvement for both teams. On the women’s side, the emphasis will be on growing together as a team while working toward a more consistent and efficient offense as well as generating aggressive pressure through teamwork on defense. For the men, defensive “tweaks” will focus on clarifying defensive assignments along with controlling the tempo and maintaining composure on offense. Both teams are quickly developing team chemistry, including experimentation with line-ups and rotations.
The teams are looking forward to this important conference match-up with NHSC this weekend. Enthusiastic fans are always noticed and appreciated so please come out and support your Conqueror basketball teams! We look forward to welcoming you to the games and are always striving to improve the game-day experience for our teams and our fans. Hope to see you there!
