On the final day of competition at the 2022 ACCA National Tournament, both of the Conqueror teams were in action again. First, the men played Union College from Lincoln, NE. In a bit of a choppy game, neither team could generate consistent offense and the score remained relatively even throughout. At the end, the Conquerors found themselves in a familiar situation, down by 1 with under 10 seconds to play in the game. And again, the team came up short on a final scoring attempt, losing by a final score of 57-56.

The FLBC women then took the court against Arlington Baptist University from Arlington, TX. Facing off against another fast and aggressive team, the Conqueror women fought fire with fire, responding with an attacking mentality on both offense and defense to play even against the Patriots for the first quarter. The press break consistently lead to some easy baskets for the Conquerors. However, the relentless pressure and basket attacks from the Patriots eventually wore down the FLBC team. Though they never gave up, the Conquerors eventually lost by a final score of 87-43.

Both teams will return home on Friday after an enjoyable week full of memories. Though not always successful on the scoreboard this week, both teams prioritized relationships and representing Christ, and FLBC, well. There are opportunities at the ACCA Tournament to “Share the Light”, and there were many examples of our teams doing exactly that both on and off the court throughout the week. We are proud of our teams and will continue to work hard to develop as student-athletes who are focused on Christ and our calling as Christians. Thank you for your unwavering support of our players and our teams as we pursue this calling through the opportunities provided by the game of basketball.
